After earning a bachelor's in recreational therapy with a minor in psychology - Amanda has passionately worked with children and adolescents all throughout our region. She began her career at a behavioral health facility before providing in-home counseling for children. A Registered Behavior Technician, Amanda is currently working towards becoming a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
Since receiving a master's degree in education counseling in 2011, Bekah has served children with autism and related disabilities both in public and private schools as well as clinical environments throughout Virginia. When not at Coastal, Bekah enjoys yoga, gardening, home improvement projects, and embarking on adventures with her family.
Throughout school and well after earning her degree in recreational therapy - Brittany has worked with children and adolescents of all ages. Brittany began her career working for the Therapeutic Recreation Department for the City of Virginia Beach. After joining Coastal, she became a Registered Behavior Technician. In her free time, Brittany enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the beach and spending time with her dogs.
While working towards her bachelor's degree in psychology, Ciara interned at a learning center for autism, which ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in this field. Before joining our team, Ciara trained and worked as a behavior technician down in Tampa, where she honed her skills and gained exceptional experience. Today, Ciara is taking classes to become Board Certified while working with our families and friends each and every day.
Elizabeth received her undergraduate degree in family and consumer sciences from Bridgewater College in 2010. After graduation, she began working with a regional special education program in Norfolk, teaching children with autism and behavioral disorders. After becoming a Registered Behavior Technician in 2015, Elizabeth joined our team and became immediately immersed in our community.
Before joining Coastal in 2015, Felicia began her career working with children and young adults at a residential disabilities facility in Norfolk. She then spent some time as a teacher for a special education program in Virginia Beach. Featuring a degree in exercise science, a master's in special education, and a certificate in autism studies - Felicia brings outstanding passion and expertise to our team.
Greg began his career as a special education teacher, spending some time at a regional program for students with autism before teaching for Virginia Beach Public Schools. When not working at Coastal or studying to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Greg enjoys spending time with friends, going to the beach, and staying active with his dog. Fun fact: Greg is an active volunteer EMT with the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
As a Registered Behavior Technician with a certificate in horticulture therapy - Heather has utilized garden therapy for her students, an exercise that brings nature inside the classroom. Prior to joining Coastal, Heather worked with both preschool and elementary-aged children in both public and private settings. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and working in her garden.
Since joining Coastal in 2015, Jamie has provided an exceptional level of service for the children in our community. A Hampton Roads native, Jamie began her career teaching at a regional special education program for children with autism in 2006. In addition to being a Licensed Behavior Analyst - Jamie is a Virginia-certified teacher in areas of intellectual, emotional and learning disabilities.
A Registered Behavior Technician with a degree in special education - Jenna has worked in the field of ABA since 2014. With experience working in autism centers in Indiana and Florida, Jenna joined our team after moving to Virginia Beach with her husband and furbabies. In her free time, Jenna enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
After receiving her bachelor's degree in 2010, Julia has worked for children with special needs both at home, in the classroom, and even abroad with non-profits in Spain. Since joining the team in 2016 after becoming a Registered Behavior Technician, Julia earned her master's degree in special education from Old Dominion University.
Katie began her career as a special education teacher in 1996 while working towards her master's degree from Old Dominion University. Since then, she's taught several disciplines of special education, was an administrator for regional special education programs and became a BCBA in 2011. When not working with children, Katie enjoys spending time with her family.
After earning her master's degree in special education, Kelly taught early childhood special education and cross-categorical classes for Virginia Beach City Public Schools. While there, Kelly's classroom was used as a model for other special education teachers, mentoring staff on developmental training related to autism. A Teacher of the Year nominee and recipient of related awards, Kelly currently works with Therapy Dogs International to provide comfort to those in need.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a master's in special education - Stefanie founded Coastal Behavior Consulting with the sole purpose of providing a higher level of service for families and friends in the Hampton Roads community. Outside of Coastal, Stef spends her downtime with her family at the beach, watching college football, and working on projects around the house.
